Start with Seacoast Drive

Pier views, neighborhood kitchens and the meeting of river and ocean at San Diego County’s southwestern coast. Imperial Beach rewards a slow walk along Seacoast Drive, a stop in a local shop and time at the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center.

Begin at the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center for exhibits and current trail information, then head to Seacoast Drive for lunch. The pier and local shops make another easy cluster of stops. Check the county’s current beach advisories before any water activity; a scenic view does not establish that swimming is safe.
